Anime Maru telling it like it is:
Sekai Project, the publisher of visual novel Sakura Spirit among other quasi-erotic anime games, had recently launched a Kickstarter on the 28th of December with a base goal of $100,000, with the promise of an OVA adaptation of Nekopara, Sekai Project’s most popular series featuring catgirl maids. Surprisingly, the project reached its audacious objective within a mere hour, and as of the 31st, sits at a whopping $425,000 with more than 30 days left in the campaign.
Meanwhile, a concurrent global fundraiser established to finance a charitable project is struggling to gain appreciable support. The project’s primary objective is to create cost-effective shelters for the homeless, but an arduous three months of campaigning has only accumulated just under 10% of the $1 million minimum goal.
I can’t help but feel this piece is judging the anime community…
